Unbeaten Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov is set to make his U.S. debut on July 1st, when he faces Raphael Akpejiori in a semifinal bout at Top Rank’s Heavyweight Gala in Toledo, Ohio.

Makhmudov, who is 16-0 with 15 knockouts, is ranked #5 by the WBC and WBA. He is considered one of the most promising young heavyweights in the world, and a win over Akpejiori could put him in line for a title shot.
