On Monday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed strong condemnation for the Israeli airstrikes in Beit Lahia, Gaza, which resulted in the tragic loss of at least 87 lives, according to Gaza's health ministry.

The Secretary-General's deputy spokesperson emphasized the importance of respecting and protecting civilians in conflict zones. The deteriorating situation in northern Gaza, marked by mass displacement and a lack of essential resources for survival, has raised serious concerns.

The UN Secretary-General urgently called for unrestricted access for humanitarian and rescue teams to provide life-saving assistance to those affected by the violence.
