Levon Hawke, the son of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, is set to make his theater directing debut with the play 'Picture Day.' This production marks the first full-length play from the Quick & Dirty Theatre Company, founded by artistic director Booth McGowan last year.
'Picture Day' is both directed and written by Levon Hawke. The show is scheduled to open at Coffey Street Studios in Red Hook, Brooklyn, on September 20 and will run through October 6. The production aims to explore themes of identity, sexuality, and the complexities of modern friendships as five roommates navigate personal revelations during an ordinary afternoon.
Levon, a 22-year-old graduate of Brown University, has previously appeared in projects such as 'Blink Twice,' directed by Zoë Kravitz, and 'The Thicket,' where he starred alongside Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis.
Quick & Dirty Theatre Company, known for its one-act plays and public readings, is reportedly launching a new Eventbrite page next week to promote its upcoming productions.
Levon's sister, Maya Hawke, aged 26, has also made a name for herself in various projects including 'Stranger Things,' 'Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood,' and 'Asteroid City.'
In 2023, Levon garnered attention for accompanying his mother, Uma Thurman, to the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Johnny Depp's movie 'Jeanne du Barry.' He has also been seen with the 'Pulp Fiction' star at a Dior fashion show.
Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman were married from 1998 to 2005.
