The player everyone should have empathy for in Week 10 of the college football season is Lousiana-Monroe offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson.
No matter what the circumstances were that led to this the 6-foot-4, 285-pound redshirt sophomore did not deserve to be treated like this by a coach.
Offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship lost his mind on the field as Hutchinson ran to the sidelines. Blankenship erupted and slammed his headset down. He stalked Hutchinson, pushing and shoving him.

Marshall defeated ULM in the Sun Belt contest, 28-23.
Blankenship is in his first season at ULM. His Twitter bio in part says: “Get Comfortable being Uncomfortable”
His ULN bio reads:
Blankenship comes to ULM after leading the New Mexico offensive line unit for the 2023 season. Under his watch, Blankenship’s offensive line helped generate 2,312 rushing yards, which was the 19th-highest mark in the country. Before his time in Albuquerque, Blankenship was on the UAB football staff for seven seasons, serving as the assistant strength coach from 2016-21 and the offensive line coach in 2022.
Blankenship needs to be sat down for a long and strong discussion with school officials and head coach Bryant Vincent for his unconscionable behavior toward a player.
