Her mother and father were killed, while her brother and sister are currently in intensive care, according to Kyiv's local authority.
In her last year of primary school, she is among at least 14 children who are said to have been killed since Russia invaded Ukraine on Thursday.
The photo was initially shared by Kyiv's Deputy Mayor Vladimir Bondarenko.
Mr Bondarenko said on Facebook: "Don't leave your house without a crucial need! Stay at home - save the lives of others"
"Her name was Polina. She studied in the 4th grade of school...This morning on Teligi her and her parents were shot by Russian DRG."
It comes as dozens more have been killed following 'intense shelling' in Kharkiv, another of Ukraine's major cities.
While talks are currently underway between Ukraine and Russia, troops are still advancing through the country and carrying on the conflict.
Ukraine's health ministry announced on Sunday that 352 civilians had been killed as a direct result of Russia's invasion.
