The woman from Ukraine who had a relationship with her host and moved out with him when he left his partner of 10 years for her has now returned to Ukraine after the affair ended. Sofiia Karkadym, 22, has broken up with Tony Garnett and has boarded a plane home from Manchester Airport to Poland, from where she will go home
The Daily Mail says Mr Garnett, from Bradford, saw Sofiia off at the airport.
Ms Karkadym told MailOnline at the airport: "I can only come back if Tony changes his mind which I’m still hoping he will. There is no other man for me and I’ve asked him not to meet any other girls if he can help it because we might still be able to work it out. We can talk in the future.
"I love Tony more than words can tell you. I have told him that I am sorry that I have hurt him too. I am sorry for everything that’s happened and only understand now how much Tony has done for me."
The pair started a relationship 10 days after Sofiia moved into the Garnett family home. They moved out and lived together for four months before Tony ended it after a series of arguments.
Mr Garnett said: "Her refugee visa is running out and she said she’s going to apply for a new one. That’s fine with me. I don’t have an issue with that as long as she doesn’t come near me again." He added: "These last five months since I left Lorna and the kids have been absolutely nutty, a real rollercoaster."
