Protests over the dismissal of Ukraine’s reformist defence minister entered a fifth day on Monday, deepening a political crisis that has placed President Volodymyr Zelensky under mounting pressure to overhaul the country’s military leadership.

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered again in central Kyiv on Monday to demand the return of former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov and the removal of Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrsky.
