Ukraine announced on Sunday that it had targeted an oil depot in southern Russia supplying the Kremlin's troops. This strike occurred as Russian attacks in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region resulted in the deaths of five civilians and injuries to 15 others.
The General Staff of Ukraine stated that Kyiv's security services conducted a drone strike in Russia's Kursk region on an oil depot used by the Russian military. The attack caused powerful explosions and a fire, potentially involving containers with oil products.
Ukraine's defense forces are actively working to undermine the military and economic capabilities of the Russian occupiers and compel the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry reported that seven Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory, with a drone strike setting fire to an oil depot in the Kursk province. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
In the ongoing conflict, Russian forces continued to advance in Ukraine's Donetsk province, capturing two villages east of Pokrovsk. Moscow also claimed control of several other villages in the region.
The conflict, which began in February 2022, has led to significant civilian casualties. Five civilians were killed and 15 wounded in Russian strikes in Donetsk, while additional civilians, including children, were injured in other parts of Ukraine.
Notably, Russian shelling in the eastern city of Nikopol and a village in Kherson province resulted in injuries to several civilians, including children and teenagers.
The situation remains tense as both sides engage in military actions with devastating consequences for civilians caught in the crossfire.
