Ukraine's eastern Donetsk group of forces has undergone a leadership change as General Oleksandr Tarnavskiy takes over from General Oleksandr Lutsenko. The decision follows criticism of Lutsenko's handling of recent Russian advances towards the key city of Pokrovsk, located just three kilometers away from Russian forces.
Pokrovsk, a strategic target for Moscow, has been a focal point of intense battles on the eastern front. Its potential fall to Russian forces would represent a significant setback for Ukraine, complicating efforts to counter Russian pressure on the front lines.
