Defiant Ukraine has launched a desperately haunting appeal for a no-fly zone - using horror images of Putin’s invasion and a famous Winston Churchill speech.
The powerful 1.10 minute video shocker features an eerie clock ticking, suggesting time is running out and compares Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Hitler using horror imagery of his invasion.
Throughout the video viewers can see the words “ Ukraine 2022” reminding them of how a modern day despot is threatening to level a neighbouring country.
It begins with a clock ticking and Churchill saying: “I have to make the declaration but can you doubt what our policy will be?
“We have but one aim and one single irrevocable purpose. We are resolved to destroy Hitler.”

Throughout the video imagery of Putin’s missiles smashing into civilian communities can be seen, elderly women desperately seeking help.
Churchill continues: “And every vestige of the Nazi regime. From this nothing will turn us. Nothing. We will never parler, we will never negotiate with Hitler or any of his gang.
“We shall fight him by land , we shall fight him by sea, we shall fight him in the air until with god’s help we have rid the earth of his shadow and liberated its people from his yoke.
“Any man or state who fights against Nazidom will have our aid….”
Throughout the video are also disturbing images of refugees fleeing Putin’s troops, who have targeted civilians throughout.
It continues: “Any man or state who marches with Hitler is our foe.”
And it ends movingly with the words: “History repeats itself. Will we repeat the greatness of our ancestors - close the sky over Ukraine!”
Fresh missile attacks have been launched on civilians amid warnings that the war in Ukraine could last years.
Overnight the population of Ovruch, which is in the north west of the country, were bombarded with bombs which destroyed 30 homes as the invasion goes into its eleventh day.
Vladimir Putin's bombing of populated areas is an effort to break morale, according to the UK government.
Ukraine's defence ministry said in a statement this morning: "The eleventh day of the heroic confrontation of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion began.
"Armed Forces and units of the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine are fighting fierce battles to maintain certain borders.
"The opponent, suffering losses, is making constant attempts to avoid direct fire contact with our troops."
In its latest update, Ukraine said that it is "imposing maximum losses" on Russian forces trying to advance in the South, East and North of the country.
It said:
- The joint forces group are carrying out a defence operation in the eastern part of the Donetsk operating district. The main efforts are focused on defending the city of Mariupol
- Other groups are engaged in defensive battles in Slobozhansky and in the eastern part of the Tavriian region
- Ukrainian forces stopped enemy troops who tried to move towards Dnipropetrovsk from the Balaklia side
- A defence operation is being carried out in the Siver region, Chernihiv
- In the Volyn region, measures are being carried out to prepare the entire lane of defense in a specific operating zone along the state border of Ukraine
The number of refugees fleeing the invasion is expected to reach 1.5 million today, officials said.
The Ukraine conflict could last “months if not years” and Vladimir Putin could resort to even “more brutal” attacks, Dominic Raab warned this morning.
The UK’s Deputy Prime Minister appeared to suggest “anyone” taking the Russian President’s illegal orders should be tried for war crimes, not just the leader himself.
