
Ukraine has launched new attacks in Russia’s southern Kursk region as US President Donald Trump pushes for ceasefire talks. The Institute for the Study of War reported that Ukrainian forces advanced up to five kilometers behind Russian lines southeast of Sudzha. The attacks, while impressive, have raised questions about their strategic purpose.
Russia claimed to have taken over Toretsk, an industrial town in eastern Ukraine, and is advancing towards Pokrovsk and Kupiansk. Some in Ukraine question the allocation of resources for the Kursk operation amidst challenges defending their own territory.
