Ukraine has reported a significant increase in Russian strikes overnight, resulting in widespread damage and casualties. Officials have confirmed that at least 12 people were injured in attacks on the Kharkiv region, with eight of them being children. The state grid operator also reported strikes on the energy system, targeting facilities in five regions. Among the damaged infrastructure were two power plants operated by Ukraine's largest private energy company.
The attacks caused significant damage to the energy facilities, prompting the dispatch of more than 100 firefighters to extinguish a blaze at an energy facility in western Ukraine. The situation remains tense as military officials revealed that over 80 Russian drones and missiles were shot down during the overnight attacks.
