The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has firmly denied any involvement in the recent terror attacks at a concert hall in Russia's Moscow region. Spokesperson Andrii Yusov emphasized that Ukraine had no connection to the tragic events, as stated by official sources including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Presidential Office, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
Responding to Russian President Vladimir Putin's claims that the perpetrators had fled towards Ukraine, Yusov dismissed these allegations as baseless. He highlighted the ongoing conflict in border areas, emphasizing the presence of enemy troops, special agents, and heavy surveillance measures on both sides of the border.
Yusov pointed out that regions like Belgorod and Kursk are active conflict zones, making it implausible for Ukraine to facilitate such activities. He refuted Putin's accusations, labeling them as 'completely false and absurd.'
Furthermore, Yusov criticized Russia for disregarding warnings, including those issued by the US Embassy, about potential terrorist threats in crowded areas. Despite the 'duty to warn' policy followed by the US, Putin dismissed these alerts as 'provocative' and 'blackmail.'
The escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia have led to a war of words following the tragic incident in the Moscow region. Both countries continue to exchange accusations and counterclaims, further straining their already fragile relationship.
As investigations into the terror attacks continue, the conflicting narratives from Ukrainian and Russian officials underscore the deep-seated mistrust and animosity between the two neighboring nations.
