Ukraine has kept up strikes on Russian energy sites, and the Trump administration has now warned Kyiv along with European partners that Washington could pull intelligence sharing and block European purchases of American weapons unless those attacks stop. Two European officials shared the details with CNN. The messages went out over the weekend from both the State Department and the Pentagon to officials in Ukraine and across Europe.
U.S. military personnel also contacted Ukrainian commanders directly as part of the same warnings. A separate source familiar with the situation said the United States specifically threatened to end intelligence sharing. The Financial Times first reported the possible cutoff of both intelligence and weapons purchases.
