Parts of the UK could see temperatures reach as high as 20C this week, although conditions will be a bit gloomy for some at first. The Met Office is expecting the best of the sunshine to come in the Midlands, northern Scotland, northern England and southern England.
The mercury is set to reach 20C in parts of Scotland today (April 17). Meanwhile, the rest of the UK will see highs of around 18C throughout the week.
As reported by The Mirror, an area of high pressure will move towards the UK tomorrow. This will see a drop in temperatures in eastern parts of the nation along the coast.

However, the Met Office's latest forecast for the UK says many parts of the country will have cloudy conditions overhead today. "Patchy rain" will also be lurking around.
But the Met Office adds the weather will remain "mostly dry" this afternoon, although some parts of the north and west will have scattered showers. Moving into the week, "fine and dry" weather is forecast for most with "plenty of sunshine", but showers could return towards the weekend.

Today: A fairly cloudy start for many, with a risk of patchy drizzle. Skies slowly brightening to reveal some afternoon sunshine in places, although an isolated shower is also possible. Feeling pleasantly warm in the sunshine, and with light winds. Maximum temperature 15°C.
Tonight: Some late sunshine through the evening. Remaining dry with clear periods for a time overnight, although low cloud arriving from the east later. Light winds, though remaining frost-free. Minimum temperature 7°C.
Tuesday: Any cloud breaking through the morning leaving a fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine. Feeling warm, though perhaps slightly cooler later in a strengthening breeze. Maximum temperature 15°C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: Further spells of sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday, though some showers are also possible and it will be rather breezy. An increasing chance of showers on Friday, and remaining breezy.
