Short bursts of rain are expected to appear across Britain this weekend - and could fall on mourners waiting in long queues to see the Queen lying-in-state.
A mostly dry start to the day across much of the country on Friday will be interrupted by isolated showers by the afternoon, according to Met Office weather maps, with a small number of these approaching London.
Eastern England and northern Scotland are expected to bear the brunt of the wet weather into Saturday, with most other areas seeing overcast autumnal conditions.
Those braving an 11-hour wait across the capital through the night could also experience lower overnight temperatures than they might be used to of late, with these predicted to drop down to single figures.
Advising well-wishers to prepare for the conditions, Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said: "If you are standing around for a few hours then you will definitely need to wrap up a bit warm."
"It will not be wall-to-wall sunshine. There will be sunny spells through the days and clear spells overnight, but gradually it will get a little bit cooler each day."
Around 400,000 people are expected to file past the Queen's coffin while it lies in state until Monday's funeral, with many waiting through the night on Friday morning.
Members of St John's Ambulance are being positioned along the line to provide emergency assistance when needed, with volunteers from the Boy Scouts and Samaritans also there to provide help.
The end of the queue could be closed as early Saturday night if it reaches peak levels, as those at the back would not have enough time to make it to Westminster Hall.
Conditions are currently expected to stay dry for the Queen's funeral on Monday thanks to a slow-moving area of an area of high pressure.
