After months of stormy, wet weather, Spring is finally on the horizon to bring blue skies to the UK this week.
Parts of Britain will even be hotter than Barcelona in the coming days, as the Met Office predicts temperatures will reach peaks of 18C.
Sunny spells are predicted all throughout this week and are set to continue into the weekend, according to the Met Office. Temperatures are due to reach their highest on Thursday, ranging from 17 to 18C in the warmest parts of the country.
This could rival last week, when the UK recorded its warmest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching highs of 18.7C in Kew Gardens in London on Wednesday.
In contrast, the temperatures in Istanbul this week are between 7 to 12 degrees. In Barcelona, it is expected to rain on Thursday with temperatures from around 14 to 15C.
Following the wet winter, conditions are due to settle down this week, with drier conditions.

Met Office spokesperson Simon Partridge told The Independent: “It is pretty decent for the time of year, mostly sort of eastern parts of England, for those highest temperatures, but with dry conditions, a bit of sunshine and it's not really windy like it has been most of the year.”
However, he added: “It's a bit of a mixed bag on Thursday, because we've got a band of rain trying to move in from the west, but it will be very slow progress. So parts of western Scotland and Northern Ireland could see a fairly gray and damp day on Thursday, whereas the rest of the UK would be mostly dry with some decent sunny spells.”
Overnight into Tuesday across northern parts of the UK it is expected to be clear with light winds, with forecasters predicting fairly widespread frost from north England through Northern Ireland and Scotland overnight as temperatures will dip to minus two or three.
During the day on Tuesday, conditions will be much better in the north with dry parts, but the odd light shower is possible. In the southeast it is expected to dry with sunny spells.

On Wednesday, much of the UK will enjoy sunny spells with temperatures hitting 14 to 16 degrees across the country. Mr Patridge said: “much of the UK will be dry again on Wednesday, not wall to wall sunshine, unfortunately, but some decent sunny spells around on Wednesday.”
A little bit of light rain and drizzle will come in far north and west of Scotland and Northern Ireland by the end of the day on Wednesday, according to the Met Office.
A band of rain will move eastwards across the country overnight as we go into Friday. On Friday there may be a little bit of cloud, rain first in the east, but then high pressure builds in again so on the weekend it’ll be mostly dry and settled once more.
