Losing a beloved pet is never easy, and people often find deeply personal ways to keep their memory alive. For a UK TikToker known as The Battersby, that farewell became an extraordinary mission. After promising his French Bulldog, Oscar, that he would one day "show him the world," he decided to honour that promise even after the dog passed away. Using a homemade high-altitude balloon equipped with a 360-degree camera, a GPS tracker and Oscar's favourite Toy Story alien toy, he sent a portion of the dog's ashes high above the clouds. The emotional journey, shared on TikTok on May 7, 2026, has since attracted more than one million views and touched pet lovers around the world with its heartfelt message. What makes this tribute resonate beyond the technical achievement is how literal it managed to be. A promise made in ordinary conversation, the kind most people never expect to actually keep, was carried through in the most unexpected, physical way possible.
