UK Lawyers for Israel is currently pushing the British government to classify the medical charity Doctors Without Borders as a terrorist organization, Novara Media reports. The group, known as UKLFI, has formally requested that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood proscribe the organization, which is also recognized as Médecins Sans Frontières or MSF. If the government follows this request, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning NGO would face the same legal status as ISIS, making any donations or public support for the group a criminal offense.
While UKLFI claims there are links between specific individuals working for MSF and militant groups, the charity has consistently denied these allegations. They maintain that they have no knowledge of any staff participating in military activity. MSF has also pointed out that Israeli authorities never provided accurate information to the NGO regarding these claims.
