UK house prices jump by thousands in October as market faces mortgage squeeze

House prices across Britain rose by more than £3,500 month-on-month in October, according to Rightmove, though the property market remains price sensitive with values "virtually flat" overall compared to the previous year.

Figures from the real estate platform show the typical asking price of a newly listed property increased by 1.0 per cent, or £3,575, compared to September.
