Millions of households are facing a “ticking timebomb” on energy bills if the cost of oil and gas is pushed up for months by Donald Trump’s war in Iran, consumer champion Martin Lewis is warning.

The Money Saving Expert founder stressed that in May the Government would have to start considering intervening to keep bills down if the crisis does not ease, with possible rises of 30% or more.
