- Major Paul Wilks, a 40-year-old British intelligence officer, has died in a road traffic accident in Ukraine away from the front lines.
- The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday 12 September.
- Major Wilks was commissioned from Sandhurst in 2012 and served in the Intelligence Corps throughout his career.
- He completed multiple operational deployments, including to Afghanistan, and was awarded two Operational Service Medals alongside a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.
- His Commanding Officer paid tribute to him as a man of great intellect who was deeply devoted to his wife and two sons.
