A clip of Owen Farrell receiving a huge hit after shoving a Northampton player has become the most viewed rugby video on TikTok this week.
It has generated a whopping 1.7 million views in just 18 hours, along with over 100,000 likes, despite the incident being from 2015.
The initial clash occurs between two England team mates, Farrell and Tom Wood, who are representing Saracens and Northampton respectively.
Wood hits Farrell low, a technique reminiscent of Wales' Dan Lydiate. It was perceived as being a late tackle by The Telegraph , which explains how Farrell reacted afterwards.
With flanker Wood on the deck trying to get up, British Lion Farrell pushes his head towards the ground using his shirt, shoves him backwards and then gives him another shove in the face.
Wood showed remarkable restraint not to retaliate and laughed it off.
In a passage of play later in the game, Wood's team mate George Pisi puts in a massive hit on Farrell, sending him flying backwards. The hit was that impressive, that Premiership Rugby uploaded a clip of the incident to their YouTube channel.
Wood retired earlier this year, and went on to win 50 caps for England, captaining his country three times. Farrell is currently England captain and received his 100th cap against New Zealand last weekend, where they drew 25-25.
