Fans have reacted to "schizophrenic" UFC star Sean Strickland posting a video of himself showering with an AK-47 machine gun.
Strickland has been known for his stunning outbursts at UFC press events and on social media during the run-up to his contests in the cage. The American star has been outspoken about his views on guns and transgender people, which has seen him have his social media accounts blocked in the past despite some groups of fans enjoying his unique brand.
The 31-year-old had previously pushed the boundaries during a tirade towards transgender people back in May, which saw him banned from Twitter. And fans have shown concern after Strickland posted a video of himself showering with an AK-47 rifle, in which he said: "I'm gonna give you guys some advice. Showering with your AK is the most f*****g American thing you can do. It's not f*****g weird."
WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE
He later added in the caption: "Lesson number 3 in my 'taticool' course. You always, always shower with your AK. She likes to be dirty, but not that dirty." Fans quickly reacted to the latest post with a series of worried messages, with one fan writing: "Certified schizophrenic." Another believed this was standard behaviour from the UFC contender, writing: "This might be the most Sean Strickland thing I've yet to see."
One added: "Dangerous Sean want to get banned? Lol." Another fan agreed: "Not weird at all." Other fans were quick to point out the AK-47 was a weapon manufactured in the Soviet Union, with one writing: "Sir that is a Russian manufactured weapon, the only way to allow this to be completely American is for the AK-47 to be swapped with a AR-15, a 12 pack of Budweiser, Charlie Daniel's greatest hits, and a cousin."
Another joked: "Yup, nothing more American than showering with your Russian-made rifle." Strickland was performing very well in the UFC, riding a six-fight win streak up until his recent KO defeat to Alex Pereira in July. It has seen the Brazilian leap in front of him in the pecking order to a title shot, with Strickland now set to face contender Jarod Cannonier on December 17 at UFC Fight Night 216.

A win for the American could see him positioned to face the winner of Pereira and Adesanya's title clash at UFC 281 in Madison Square Garden next weekend. However, he has warned that Cannonier poses a real threat to hand him a second successive loss later this year.
"You guys will find this hard to believe, but I've never watched Jared Cannonier fight," Strickland said in an episode of Food Truck Diaries. "I try not to get too fixated on guys because I stop just being myself and I start trying to do things differently. I mean, Jared Cannonier is a scary motherf*****, dude. I mean, who f***ing knows, I could get knocked the f*** out, I could win, who f***ing knows."
