UFC star Sean Strickland offers Instagram personality $200,000 for street fight

Sean Strickland has challenged Instagram personality Commander Dale Brown to fight him in the desert for $200,000.

Brown, who has over 400,000 Instagram followers, is the founder of controversial self-defence group Detroit Urban Survival Training. His techniques have often been mocked by fighters and fans and Strickland decided to put Brown's methods to the test when the pair recently crossed paths at a gun store in Las Vegas.

The self-defence instructor can be seen demonstrating a move on Strickland, who is a top-ranked middleweight contender in the UFC. Strickland reverses the position and attempts to land a knee on Brown, only for the instructor to fall backwards and send a glass worktop crashing to the floor.

Brown was critical of Strickland for resisting the technique he was trying to show him and subsequently challenged him to a spar in the desert. "I was doing a demo on how our techniques work. I told him if he wants to spar and do this the way he was talking about, we need to go out to the desert alone. Around no witnesses, other than us and the camera person. We can't do this in the city." Brown said on the Fight In Sight podcast.

Strickland caught wind of Brown's offer and offered him $200,000 for his sparring offer in the desert, stating: "You said you would meet me in the desert, I will make you a deal. Next week, the following week or whenever you’re free I will buy your plane ticket, I will put you in whatever hotel you want. I will go take $200,000 in cash and I will put it in the sand and you can have that money and all you got to do is beat me.

"Just say when man, I promise you we will do this whatever you want. The thing is dude, you’re a fraud. You’re a phoney, you’re a con artist. You know you are, I know you are, and if you want to man up and show the world that maybe you’re legitimate. Next week, the following week, plane ticket, hotel, transportation, $200,000 on the ground. That’s the easiest money you’ll ever f****ng make.”

Strickland is known for being one of the UFC's most controversial personalities, with his views on guns and transgender people, leading to bans on his social media accounts in the past. Sceptical that Brown would accept his desert challenge, Strickland went on to write: "Can you believe this man? I will fly to Detroit personally, I think I have to roll up to this man's gym."
