UFC star opens up on decision to quit OnlyFans after suffering from trauma

Jessica Andrade quit OnlyFans after the subscription site brought back memories of her childhood trauma.

Andrade is currently riding a three-fight win streak in the UFC after losing her title to Valentina Shevchenko in April 2021, as she continues to try and return to the top. She began the year with another positive points win over Lauren Murphy as she continues to tread her path to a shot at champion Zhang Weili.

Alongside her UFC career, Andrade ran a successful account on subscription service OnlyFans where fans pay to see premium adult content created by 'Bate Estaca'. However Andrade has revealed that running her account was opening up childhood trauma which she has since elected to bury to focus on her fighting career.

"I used to have [an OnlyFans account], I don’t anymore,” Andrade told Cortes do Connect Cast. “I never liked doing that, can you believe it? That was really bad for me. Because I have childhood traumas, stuff like abuse, and everything. When I did that (OnlyFans), I felt the same way.

"I felt my hands were tied, I couldn’t react. Do you know when you freeze? It got very deep into my trauma. And I couldn’t say no. I never wanted to do this OnlyFans thing. I hated it, hated it. I had never spoken [about childhood abuse]. Only the closest people knew. Now the whole world will know. But it’s part of it.

"It was something that really traumatised me and I didn’t know how to say ‘no.’ It referred to me [to what I had experienced in childhood]. When the first pictures leaked it was really bad. Because I had to pretend that I was fine, and I wasn’t fine.”

Andrade previously posed naked with her UFC title belt after winning it in 2019 which brought her profile firmly into the spotlight. The Brazilian star has made a huge impression in the strawweight division, and felt she had no option but to turn to alternative financial routes to support the best career progress possible.

Despite now being firm on her decision to quit the platform, Andrade revealed quite how important the extra financial incentive was to relieve pressure on her shoulders. “I paid off my car and six or seven months of rent [in Las Vegas] in advance, I haven’t even used the money of my last fight’s purse," Andrade told MMA Fighting.

"I was able to pay my bills in Brazil, help my family and help Fernanda’s family with OnlyFans’ money. It’s nice when you check your account and see the money is still there. You’re like, ‘My God, I’m buying a lot of stuff on Amazon, my house is like a market right now, and the account remains the same. Even though the photos have leaked, it was only four or five photos."
