UFC middleweight Paulo Costa has claimed that Jake Paul is his "hero" after calling out Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal to boxing fights.
Paul is eyeing a return to the boxing ring in August and has called for a fight in either the UFC or the boxing ring with Masvidal after their prior friendship turned sour. Most recently, the YouTube star has called for a boxing meeting with Bisping who has recently suggested he should instead fight UFC legend Anderson Silva.
Brazilian star Costa has issued some surprise praise for the YouTube star on social media, tweeting: " Jake Paul is my hero, mentor and idol." The comment came after Paul went off on a lengthy and expletive rant after coming up short in his fight call-out's with Masvidal and Bisping.
“I also think it’s a silly call-out [Bisping],” Paul said to reporters. “That’s an easy fight for me, it’s a one-round fight, he’s an old guy. Here’s the thing about me, if someone talks s***, I have to f*** them up. I have a f***ing problem. If someone talks s***, let’s f***ing settle it in the ring. Let’s see if you’re really about that or if you’re just talking on Twitter. You feel me?
"So these guys — these ‘UFC champions’ — who think they’re so tough, I’ll beat the f*** out of all of them and I got time. I got time to do it, I’m young. So any of them can come and get it as fast as we get these deals done, I’ll knock them all out. Bisping wants to talk s***? Cool. Let’s get in the ring, motherf*****. You p****.
"If anyone wants to talk s***, get in the f***ing ring, p****. [Jorge] Masvidal, you p***y. All these guys are all talk, they’re cap, and their dad Dana [White] f***ing owns them. They’re a bunch of f***ing p****** that have to hide behind the f***ing contract.”

His violent threat came after his exchange of verbal jabs with Bisping on Twitter, where the British star claimed he could get licensed to take part in a ring meeting. Paul named Bisping and Masvidal on a six-man hit-list for his future boxing plans and the British star has now made an "in-person" proposal to try and ignite talks.
Masvidal has recently signed a new deal with the UFC and is unlikely to be able to entertain any fight with Paul despite their rivalry. 'GameBred' however did claim he would step in the ring with the YouTuber providing the financial reward meets his standards. "I love money and if it made me money, like a ton of it, why the f*** not?" he said on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast.
"No matter what, I feel like the chips are stacked on my side because he just got into this like five or six years ago and I've been doing it since I was a kid."
