Conor McGregor has admitted to suffering "trauma" since being knocked off his bike whilst cycling last month.
Former two-weight UFC champion McGregor, 34, was taking a cycle through the Irish countryside last month when a driver unexpectedly hit him from behind, sending him crashing to the ground from his bike. McGregor posted video footage after the crash that showed both him and the driver of the car quite shaken up from the accident.
A few weeks on from the crash and McGregor posted a picture of himself receiving cupping therapy on his right shoulder whilst reflecting on the incident. "Got a bang of a car full speed. Feel good though but defo some trauma.
"Appreciate the help from my long time masseuse and friend, doctor pain Vasile Bria. God bless all of those in Turkey and Syria currently! Mother Nature please go easy on our bodies. God please, our souls," he wrote.
McGregor labelled the crash a "sun trap" due to the weather on the day and credited his skills as a martial artist for being able to break his fall when hitting the ground. In the videos he posted, the Irishman can be seen assessing the scene before telling the driver: "All good mate, don't worry about it. That's nasty, I could have been dead there. Jesus Christ. I got away with my life there, boys."
The bike McGregor was riding was in a bad wreck so he was given a lift home by the driver that him, with McGregor also filming a video with the man in the car. "I'm here with Mick... Mick smacked me with his car. We've got the bike in the back, it wasn't our time, Mick, that's all. God bless, and we're f***in' still here, thank God. That's all that matters."

The timing of a serious injury would have been unfortunate for McGregor, with his UFC return against Michael Chandler being announced last week. The pair will coach against each other on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter before fighting later this year. No date or location has yet been announced for the fight, but it's expected that it will take place after August.
McGregor hasn't won a fight since knocking out Donald Cerrone in 40-seconds over three years ago, with the Irishman being absent from the octagon since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in their July 2021 trilogy fight. Chandler has a UFC record of 2-3 and has been calling for a fight against McGregor since being signed to the promotion two years ago.
