UFC on ESPN 41 video: Gerald Meerschaert drops, stops Bruno Silva to add to submission record

Gerald Meerschaert UFC Bruno Silva Anderson Silva

SAN DIEGO – Only Anderson Silva has more finishes in UFC middleweight fights than Gerald Meerschaert after UFC on ESPN 41.

Meerschaert (34-15 MMA, 10-7 UFC) scored his 10th stoppage win in the octagon on Saturday when he submitted Bruno Silva (22-8 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in the third round of their main card bout at Pechanga Arena.

After a tit-for-tat first two frames, Meerschaert looked to end things in the final round. He did just that, hurting Silva with his hands before locking in a guillotine choke to force the tap from his Brazilian foe.
