UFC fighter says Ireland's nightlife 'sucks' on Fridays as he visits for stag

A UFC fighter was left less than impressed with Irish nightlife after he took a trip to one of Ireland's largest cities to enjoy his stag.

Brazilian fighter Johnny Walker said he made his way to Cork on Friday, hoping for a fun-filled night but was left disappointed.

The athlete who trains out of Dublin was joined by his coach John Kavanagh.

Taking to Twitter, he proclaimed that the "city is dead", reports Cork Beo.

Johnny wrote: "I'm so so sorry but I have to say Cork night Friday night sucks, nothing to do anymore, the city is dead! Hopefully Saturday is better, tonight sucks."

He added: "first night on my stag, sh**".

The tweet got a lot of traction online, with many chiming in with suggestions on how Johnny could improve his stag with a better night on Saturday.

One person joked: "There's a mass in Ballyphehane at 6pm".

While others urged him to come back in a few weeks for the Jazz.

They said: "Come back in 4 weeks time for the jazz weekend. Completely different story. Best city in the country when it's on".

Plenty of others chimed in to point him to one of the city's many hotspots that might suit.

They said: "Whatcha looking to do day 2 Johnny?

Top class cocktails in Cask, Upstairs at Arthur Maynes and dwyers. Best place for sport, play interactive darts and pool is the mardyke. City is much busier on a sat night but be aware every place closes at 2.30am."
