UFC fighter Sean Strickland landed himself in hot water after he made a controversial comment and declared that if he had a gay son, he would think he had “failed as a man”.
On Monday, a fan posed the question on Twitter to the US mixed martial artist, on whether he would “rather have a gay son or a thot daughter.”
Strickland, who competes in the UFC middleweight division, responded: “If I had a gay son I would think I failed as a man to create such weakness… If I had a whore for a daughter I’d think she just wanted to be like her dad lol!!”

After he shared his problematic response, another fan encouraged him to “delete this before they come for you,” to which Strickland simply laughed off, “Hey there is nothing wrong with being gay.. lol!!!!”

Of course, his tweet was met with significant backlash.
Ari Cohn wrote, “Hate to break it to you, but you’ve already failed as a man.”

Instead of apologizing, Strickland doubled down later on and continued to make homophobic comments and slammed beta males and pronouns.
“I have been getting some hate for that gay son joke. You beta males need to calm the f*** down, this isn't your college you're not going to get laid here by a ‘zir’ or it’ by being a little b****. It's ok this is a safe place. Untuck your balls you're allowed to be a ‘he’ here,” he tweeted.

Strickland was notably banned from Instagram earlier this month, which he claims was because he made a “joke about pedophiles dying”.
