Controversial UFC fighter Sean Strickland has claimed that he is "not stable enough" to appear on podcasts after a recent recording with Brendan Schaub.
Strickland is the No.7-ranked middleweight in the promotion, and is divisive among fans of the sport with some loving his wacky outbursts and others feeling he goes too far. His outlandish social media presence has seen him banned from Twitter and Instagram on multiple occasions, with his recent return the latest effort to communicate with fans.
He recently recorded an episode of comedian and former fighter Schaub's show Food Truck Diaries, with the full show still unreleased. However, brief clips have been released of his filming with the comedian's Thiccc Boi network in which he claimed to have his first fight at the age of 15 in an unlicensed smoker, and accused athletic commissions of "robbing" fighters.
“Just finished a Brendon Schaub podcast,” Strickland wrote in a post to his newest Instagram page, which has gathered just under 8,000 followers. “I think this might be the last one I do… I’m not stable enough to speak. After I awhile I start advocating for puppy murder. No further request…”
In a later video to his Instagram page, Strickland said: "So you guys, I hate podcasts. I hate podcasts because as I start talking I get angry, my f***ing filter drops and I say s*** that is taken out of f***ing context. I hate podcasts!" In a post promoting the upcoming podcast episode, Schaub himself referred to Strickland as a "savage", sharing a photo of the pair with the caption: "Finally got this savage on #FoodTruckDiaries. Sean Strickland coming in HOT."

Strickland is expected to return to the cage against Jared Cannonier on December 17 after losing to Alex Pereira in a brutal first round knockout back in July. The winner of that UFC 276 bout was all but guaranteed a shot at world champion Israel Adesanya, with Pereira ultimately booking a November 12 showdown with the Nigerian shortly afterwards.
The pair were initially booked to fight on October 15, but just days after the fight was announced, Strickland was forced to withdraw due to a nasty finger infection he suffered in training. Strickland said the infection came on quickly after he cut his finger on a sparring partner's tooth.
“I punched a dude in the face, right? It was consensual," he said in an Instagram video. "But I hit his tooth and now my finger is god awful infected. So now I've got to go get this thing scrubbed out, get an antibiotic IV and we’ll be back to it on Monday.” when the infection continued to get worse, he took himself to the hospital where doctors said his finger would require surgery.
