The UFC handed out four post-fight bonuses after Saturday’s card, awarding two submissions and two knockout finishes.
After UFC Fight Night 214, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances in Las Vegas. Check out the winners below.
'Performance of the Night': Tamires Vidal
Tamires Vidal def. Ramona Pascual via TKO (flying knee) – Round 1, 3:06
A fighter’s UFC debut can’t go much better. Tamires Vidal took virtually zero damage in her fight against Ramona Pascual, and ended the contest with a highlight reel finish by flying knee. The 24-year-old Brazilian bantamweight walks out of the UFC Apex with her seventh professional win, and an extra $50,000.
'Performance of the Night': Polyana Viana
Polyana Viana def. Jinh Yu Frey via TKO (punches) – Round 1, 0:47
Polyana Viana has finishing instincts and they were on full display in her UFC Fight Night 214 preliminary bout against Jinh Yu Frey. As the fighters appeared to be just settling into the fight in the opening seconds, Viana landed a punch to stun Frey. Noticing her opponent wasn’t right, Viana immediately capitalized by unleashing a furious combination to end the fight in less than a minute. Viana bounces back into the win column with a POTN bonus.
'Performance of the Night': Mario Bautista
Mario Bautista def. Benito Lopez via submission (armbar) – Round 1, 4:54
Mario Bautista kept his win streak alive by finishing Benito Lopez with a beautiful submission in the closing seconds of the first round. With a number of options at his disposal from an inverted triangle position, Bautista opted to finish the fight by cranking on an armbar. For the slick finish, Bautista earned his third UFC bonus.
'Performance of the Night': Neil Magny
Neil Magny def. Daniel Rodriguez via submission (D’Arce choke) – Round 3, 3:33
In what was shaping up to be a Fight of the Night with Daniel Rodriguez, Neil Magny sealed the deal in the final round with a beautiful D’Arce choke submission. While he may have been in line for a bonus regardless of the result as the first two rounds were incredibly competitive, Magny closed the show and sealed the $50,000 POTN bonus for himself as he broke the record for most wins in the UFC welterweight division.
