Khalil Rountree was not playing around on Saturday night.
The UFC light heavyweight put on one of his most dominant showings, dispatching Karl Roberson in ruthless fashion on the main card of UFC Fight Night 203 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The official stoppage came at the 0:25 mark of Round 2.
After an evenly matched first round where both fighters were active on the feet, Rountree (10-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) came out on the second to put an end to the contest. Rountree poured it on from the start of the round on Roberson (9-5 MMA, 4-5 UFC) and didn’t stop until the referee called the fight.
Rountree connected hard on Roberson and dropped him early in the round. He then followed up with a kick to the body on a grounded Roberson and heavy ground-and-pound there after. It was too much for Roberson to handle and the referee had no choice but to stop the fight.

With this victory, Rountree now finds himself on a two-fight winning streak. He had stopped Modestas Bukauskas with a TKO in his previous bout back in September. Meanwhile, Roberson is on a two-fight skid. This was his first fight back up to light heavyweight since early 2019.
