Two UFC strawweight notables will collide this summer.
One of the most experienced women on the promotion’s roster, Angela Hill will battle Tabatha Ricci at the UFC Fight Night event Aug. 24 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking after Hill (17-13 MMA, 12-13 UFC) announced the fight on her podcast, “2Straws.”
Hill, 39, has won four of her most recent five fights. She’s coming off back-to-back wins including a unanimous decision over Denise Gomes and a submission of Luana Pinheiro.
Ricci (10-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has won five of her most recent six outings. In her most recent fight, Ricci, 29, bounced back from a split decision loss to Loopy Godinez when she defeated Tecia Pennington by split decision.
With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for Aug. 24 includes:
- Brunno Ferreira vs. Roman Kopylov
- Gerald Meerschaert vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
- Neil Magny vs. Michael Morales
- Angela Hill vs. Tabatha Ricci
- Dennis Buzukja vs. Danny Silva
- Jose Medina vs. Zach Reese
- Viacheslav Borshchev vs. James Llontop
- Jacqueline Cavalcanti vs. Josiane Nunes
- Victoria Leonardo vs. Cong Wang
