SYDNEY – The UFC 293 pre-fight press conference went down Thursday and it was the first opportunity to get a look at fighter staredowns for the event.
The fight card, headlined by a middleweight title bout between Israel Adesanya (24-2 MMA, 13-2 UFC) and Sean Strickland (27-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) goes down Saturday at Qudos Bank Arena with a main card that airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPNews and ESPN+.
In addition to the main event, notable matchups includes a heavyweight co-headliner between Tai Tuivasa (15-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) and Alexander Volkov (36-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC), as well as the remaining main card matchups of Manel Kape (18-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC) vs. Felipe dos Santos (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), Justin Tafa (6-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) vs. Austen Lane (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Tyson Pedro (9-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) vs. Anton Turkalj (8-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC).
All five pairings were in attendance at the pre-fight news conference, where they answered questions and engaged in faceoffs.
