UFC 290 weigh-in results: Title fights set, but one main card fighter heavy in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC 290 fighter weigh-ins, where all but one fighter hit their marks for Saturday’s event.

In the main event, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (25-2 MMA, 12-1 UFC) takes on interim champ Yair Rodriguez (16-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) in a title unification bout. Volkanovski was the first fighter to the scale in the two-hour official weigh-ins window and was 144.5 pounds. Rodriguez was the third fighter to the scale and was 145.

In the co-feature, flyweight titleholder Brandon Moreno (21-6-2 MMA, 9-3-2 UFC) makes the first attempted defense of his second title reign when he meets Alexandre Pantoja (25-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) in a rematch. Both fighters weighed in at 125 about a minute apart to make their fight official.
