RIO DE JANEIRO – UFC 283 takes place Saturday, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. PT).
UFC 283 takes place at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC and early prelims on ESPN+.
In the main event, former champion Glover Teixeira (33-8 MMA, 16-6 UFC) and Jamahal Hill (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) meet for the vacant light heavyweight title. The co-main event will be the fourth fight between champion Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-1 MMA, 10-2-1 UFC) and former champ and current interim titleholder Brandon Moreno (20-6-2 MMA, 8-3-2 UFC) for the undisputed flyweight championship after they’ve gone 1-1-1 in their three previous encounters.

Daniel Marcos vs. Saimon Oliveira
Round 1 – Marcos and Oliveira get things rolling for the first UFC event in Brazil in nearly three years. They clinch often and scramble for position along the fence. Oliveira tries some flashy stuff, but it’s not there. What it does, though, is give Marcos some pause. Oliveira throws a couple spinning punches in a row late in the round, but Marcos seems wise to them. He ties the Brazilian up against the fence, but Oliveira reverses position and goes for a single-leg takedown. It’s not there, and both fighters try some spinning stuff before the horn. It’s a close round, but MMA Junkie gives it to Marcos, 10-9.
Round 2 – Marcos lands to the body 30 seconds in and seems to hurt Oliveira. Oliveira tries to retreat and recover, but Marcos ties him up. The reset, and Marcos keeps chasing Oliveira down. He drills him with a kick to the head, a couple punches, and has him in trouble on the fence. Marcos stays patient and goes to the body, then a right to the head. Oliveira tries to put something together. But a few seconds later, Marcos lands to the body again. Oliveira is hurt. He crumples, and Marcos piles on the offense until he gets the stoppage to stay unbeaten.

Round 1 – And Nunes comes out firing! These two are brawling. Fairn is lighting Nunes up. Kick to the liver, then uppercut. Solid chin by Nunes, let’s see how long it holds up. Hard elbow from Farin. Ok, Nunes is starting to find her range here. A few straight punches connect for her. Two minutes left. The fight has cooled down a bit after a wold start. Good body kick by Fairn. And now Nunes is turning it up! A few shots connect and the crowd goes wild. Nunes now pressing Fairn against the cage. Farin breaks free. The bell rings.

Round 2 – Fun fight so far. Nunes immediately closes the distance on Fairn. A couple of hooks connect for Nunes. Fairn’s output has dropped dramatically. She keeps running into the cage as Nunes backs her up with pressure. Superman punch by Nunes! Nunes is making this ugly and is working. Good one, two by Fairn. Three minutes left. Fairn working the jab and she’s connecting a good amount. Nunes presses Fairn against the cage. Two minutes left. Nunes not doing any damage here, but she’s in full control. They break away. Nunes right eye is a bit busted. Hard knee to the body by Fairn to close out the round. Close round.

Round 3 – Fairn now being more conscious about keeping her back away from the cage. That’s immediately paying off. Nunes coming at Fairn wild, but missing most shots. Fairn’s jab is on point so far. Nunes’ right eye is closing. Hrad knee to the body by Fairn. And Nunes with a wild combo connects a few shots. Big left hook by Nunes. Another one! Fairn is slowing down here. Good jabs by Fairn. And Nunes cracks Fairn with a big left and the presses her against the cage. The bell rings. Fun fight, also a close one.

Round 1 – Oh, it seemed for a second Dalby stunned Alves, but it was just a split. Dalby now pressing Alves against the cage. Both landing short shots from close quarters. Big leg kick by Alves buckles Dalby. Tons of movement from both guys. Dalby now bleeding from his right eye. Dalby closes the distance and begins to work the knees while pressing Alves against the cage. The crowd is not happy. Nice elbow by Dalby, as he lets Alves free from the clinch. And a nice one, two by Dalby. The bell rings. Fun first round.

Round 2 – Oh, big leg kick by Alves to start the round. And now Alves presses Dalby against the cage. There’s the takedown. Alves alamsot gets caught in a triangle in the process, but he’s fine now. He’s working from guard. Good elbows from bottom by Dalby. And Dalby gets back up. Dalby immediately pressures Alves and closes the distance on Alves. He’s got Alves up against the cage. Two minutes left. Alves gets out. Good jabs by Dalby. Massive right hand by Alves. This is a crazy fight. Dalby with a good leg kick. Alves is still dangerous, but Dalby seems to be having the most success on the feet so far. Good rangy attacks by Dalby. The bell rings.

Round 3 – And these two are swinging for the fences! Dalby presses Alves against the cage. Complete control here by Dalby but not much damage. Alves having a tough time getting out. Alves gets out with two mnutes left. Oh! Big right hand by Alves. He’s putting it on Dalby. Another one. Alves has Dalby backing up. Spinning elbow nearly lands by Alves. Good jabs by Dalby here. They trade head kicks. This is turning into a brawl. Dalby looks tired. He presses Alves against the cage now. He controls for a few seconds, they break away and the bell rings.

Round 1 – Here we go! And they touch gloves. McKinney almost gets caught with a big right as he looked to land a knee. Big left by Bonfim! This is fireworks so far. McKinney closes the distance and presses Bonfim against the cage. Not much damage here. Good knee by Bonfim. And he gets out of the clinch. Big left hook drops McKinney. The crowd goes wild. McKinney quickly gets up, gets a hold of Bonfim and presses him against the cage. Two minutes left. And McKinney drops to the ground in hopes to get Bonfim’s back. He fails and now he’s on bottom. McKinney looking to get up, but Bonfim keeps hitting mat returns. McKinney is free now. Bonfim goes for a head kick, slips, and McKinney jumps on top. The bell rings.

Round 2 – Oh! Bonfim wobbles McKinney. He’s in trouble. McKinney tries to get a takedown, but fails. Bonfim now backing up McKinney. He’s got McKinney hesitant. Clear power advantage for Bonfim. Three minutes left. McKinney keeps backing up, while Bonfim walks him down, looking to drop bombs. No way! Bonfim sleeps McKinney with a flying knee. Unbelievable. McKinney landed face first and he’s completely out. What a debut.

Round 1 – No touch of gloves. Stamann immediately keeping very movile, while Lacerda has a more still muay Thai stance. Both guys very tentative here. Lacerda throws a few kicks to test out range. Hard kick to the body by Lacerda. Stamann with a few combos, but nothing lands clean. Another body kick by Lacerda. Two minutes left. Lacerda attempts a takedown and fails. Good jabs by Stamann. Good leg kick by Stamann. Good jab then left hook by Lacerda. Stamann with a hard leg kick. The bell rings. Close round.

Round 2 – Lacerda walking down Stamann here. Oh! Nice jab and then a leg kick by Stamann drops Lacerda. He immediately gets back up. Stamann keeping very mobile like the first. It’s clear Stamann has a speed advantage here. Good combo by Lacerda. Lacerda with some nasty hooks to the body. Now Stamann connects with a big left hook. Three minutes left. Stamann connects with a big leg kick. Good combo finished by ahook to the body lands for Stamann. Much better round for him. Solid jabs by Stamann. Lacerda is having a tough time landidng now. Lacerda’s nose is a bit busted. Lacerda with a few good shots to end the round.

Round 3 – Very competitive fight so far. Stamann seems fresh and still, with a ton of side-to-side movement. Lacerda with a good straight right. Both fighters have lowered their output here. And Lacerda shoots a double and gets it. Stamann gets up, but Lacerda slams him again. The crowd is now cheering. Lacerda moves to half guard. Now Lacerda controls Stamann in a Khabib-like position against the cage. Two minutes left. Stamann gets back to his feet. Not much going on on the feet here. Good bocy kick by Lacerda. Oh, that seems to have hurt Stamann a bit. Stamann very mobile still, but output has drastically dropped. Good left hook by Stamann. The bell rings.

Almeida drags him back to the ground. Almeida now working from half guard. And he moves to mount. Almeida now takes the back of Abdurakhimov. Three minutes left. Barely any ground-and-pound by Almeida, just control. Almeida moves back to mount. Almeida is now adding a bit of ground-and-pound to his offense. Two minutes left. Complete control here by the Brazilian. Oh, oh, big elbow from top by Almeida. Almeida snatches the arm triangle! Abdurakhimov gets out, but still mounted. Nasty shots from the top by Almeida. And Moises takes the fight to the ground. Two minutes left. Moises moves to side control briefly and gets pulled back into guard. Costa gets back to his fet. Forty seconds left. Both fighters exchange, but neither connects clean. Big right hand by Moises as the bell rings.

Round 1 – And the main card is live! Huge leg kick by Walker. Both guys extremely tentative. A minute has gone by and Walker’s kick is the only significant strike so far. Another leg kick by Walker. Again. Craig catches a kick from Walker, but on one leg, Walker unleashes strikes on Craig. Oh, Craig is hurt. He’s on the ground. And it’s over. Walker overwhelms Craig while on one leg. Incredible.

The fight should get stopped, but it continues. Unreal levels of toughness by Murphy. Oh, another right hand by Andrade. Murphy’s face is all swollen. Nasty uppercut by Andrade. The bell rings. Murphy’s face is disfigured.

One minute as gone by. Moreno tries to get to side control and Figueiredo scrambles out. The fight is back standing. Big right hand by Moreno connects. Nice liver kick by Moreno. Figueiredo seems a bit gun shy here. Two minutes left. Nice one two by Moreno. Figueiredo counters with a hook to the body. Stiff jab by Moreno. He’s looking good so far. Big leg kick by Figueiredo. Figueiredo shoots, but Moreno stuffs the takedown. Moreno now shoots and gets the takedown. Figueiredo now attacking with an ankle lock. Moreno slips out and the bell rings.

Big shots from Moreno. The replay shows the punch was actually what hurt Figueiredo. Moreno maintains top position until the bell.

Round 4 – Looks like Figueiredo’s eye is completely shut. They bring in the doctor before the fourth round starts. The doctor says Figueiredo can’t see and the fight is over. Moreno wins.

Round 3 – Teixeira immediately goes for a takedown and presses Hill against the cage. Hill escapes. Hill’s takedown defense is on point. Stiff jab by Hill. A head kick wobbles Teixeira. Hill all over him. Teixeira falls to the canvas. Hill dropping ground-and-pound. Nasty shots by Hill. Teixeira is busted up, he’s bleeding a lot. Hill lets him back up. Big jab by Teixeira. Again. Round 4 – Hill is clearly up, but Teixeira is not entire out of the fight. He’s still landing. Good jabs by Hill. Big, big knee to the head by Hill. Teixeira tries to take the fight to the ground, but unable to. Head kick wobbles Teixeira. Now Hill is back at it again, putting it on Teixeira. Teixeira is still standing, though. He’s not on survival like he was in Round 3. Teixeira is slowing down. And Teixeira tags Hill. Hill eats it well, but that landed clean. Man, Teixeira is so resilient. Two minutes left. Good body shot by Teixeira. Hill dropping bombs on Teixeira now. Hill is picking apart Teixeira now by the cage. Little offense from Teixeira at this point. The bell rings. Teixeira is a mess.

Round 5 – And somehow Teixeira seems to have recovered a good bit. Teixeira shoots for the takedown and gets it! The Brazilian crowd goes wild! Teixeira now in half guard. Side control! Hill doing his best to get up but unable. Back to half guard for Teixeira. Teixeira now moves to mount. Unreal. Hill reverses the position and ends on top. Hill landing some good shots from top. Hill moves to half guard. Teixeira looks exhausted. Hill lets Teixeira back up.Teixeira chases Hill, but Hill coasts all the way to the bell. What a fight.
