UEFA fire warning shot over Super League as Jordan Henderson outburst overheard at Liverpool

UEFA's Super League warning

After the disastrous launch of the European Super League in April last year, which lasted all of 48 hours, the remaining three teams left in the project have threatened to reignite the idea.

Liverpool were among nine teams to drop out after protests and backlash from fans and the Reds launched a Supporters Board which would have to give their consent to form any new Super League in the future.

Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona are hoping to move forward with a breakaway league and UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has warned clubs that any teams participating in said league will be banned from UEFA competitions.

"Let me just say that they can play their own competition, nobody forbids them that," Ceferin said speaking at the Financial Times' Business of Football Summit.

"But if they play their own competition they cannot play our competition."

Liverpool continued the good mood factor around Anfield on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
