Draymond Green is serving an indefinite suspension. The veteran forward has found himself in trouble with the NBA on multiple occasions over the past 18 months. As such, Green is working with the Golden State Warriors and the NBA league office on a path back to being cleared to play.
During a recent appearance on “The Big Podcast,” Udonis Haslem, who spent 20 years as a member of the Miami Heat‘s roster, shared his thoughts on Green’s situation and the decisions that led the veteran forward to where he is now.
“I think Draymond’s gotten to the point where (he’s) the initiator and I think that’s not a good thing,” Haslem said. “When I saw the things that are happening. They kind of make me cringe because I put myself in that situation. Because I’m an OG and I’m a leader. So, when I look at Draymond, I try to put myself in his shoes. I don’t wanna stand at the top and throw rocks. It just makes me cringe, because I can imagine myself, the way he hit Jordan Poole, I can imagine myself hitting Tyler Herro like that. And I try to understand where he’s coming from, and I can never do those things.”
A lot has been said regarding Green’s current situation and the poor decision-making he’s displayed en route to his suspension. However, the veteran forward is trying to work on his issues and get himself back to a space where he’s able to play and enjoy basketball again.
The Warriors are 5-3 in the eight games since Green was suspended by the league. They hope to continue producing at a high level as they chase a spot in the playoffs.
