Winning national championships runs in the family for LSU’s Angel Reese and UConn’s Jordan Hawkins.
The cousins from Maryland both won national titles with their respective schools in the last two days. Reese and LSU beat Iowa 102–85 and earned the game’s MVP award on Sunday.
After UConn won the men’s NCAA title on Monday night, Hawkins was asked about how it felt to have Reese and him both win national championships this year. It sounds like the two already have plans to celebrate together.
“Yes, absolutely, me and Angel sort of paved the way, man, we did it,” Hawkins said, via CBS Sports. “I wished her luck. I’mma see her in Maryland soon so, the cookout gone be lit.”

The cousins will have some jewelry to show off at the cookout, that’s for sure.
