Ubisoft chalks up sudden reupload of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag music on YouTube to technical issues, but of course, no one is buying that

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

Ubisoft says recent Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag music uploads were down to "technical issues," although this issue suspiciously only happened to the game rumored to get a remake .

The Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake feels like one of the worst-kept secrets in the history of games, so much so that I'm starting to believe it's an elaborate prank at this point. Web domains, age ratings, hints from voice actors and statue makers, and pretty much everything else short of actually revealing the game have emerged, and at this point everyone is waiting.

Ubisoft itself appeared to join in on the leaks earlier this week by randomly uploading 18 of the 2013 game's sea shanties to its music-focused YouTube channel, but has since put out a 'nothing to see here' statement. On the Ubisoft Music community page (highlighted by Insider Gaming), a post reads, "Hi there music lovers! We encountered some technical issues with a few of our videos, which we had to reupload. Apologies for the trouble, and hope you enjoy the music."

Of course, it's quite suspicious that this only seemed to happen for a game that has been heavily rumored to receive a remake in the very near future, and naturally, fans aren't buying it.

One response reads, "We don’t believe you! Coincidence releasing Black Flag music? I think not!" Another calls out how ridiculous the leaks have been, saying, "They trynna hide resynced after so many leaks is literally hilarious." Meanwhile, someone else is getting annoyed waiting, simply responding, "Bullshit. Announce the remake," which I'm sure whoever is running the YouTube Ubisoft Music channel definitely has the power to do, so we might see it soon.

Fantastic Four and one-time Assassin's Creed actor reacts to Ubisoft's cancellation of a post-Civil War era game in the most appropriate way possible: "F**k off."
