UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed with Sudan’s Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the recent developments in Sudan and the relationship between the two countries.

During a phone call, Sheikh Mansour affirmed the UAE's keenness to support all peaceful political solutions and initiatives aimed at de-escalation and ending the crisis in Sudan.

The Vice President expressed the importance that rival sides in Sudan prioritize the voice of wisdom and peaceful dialogue to protect Sudan's supreme interests and ensure its security and stability.

He expressed his appreciation for Sudan for facilitating the evacuation of nationals of the UAE and many brotherly and friendly world countries.

For his part, Burhan lauded UAE's positions and keenness to ensure Sudan's stability, security, and peace.

He highlighted the shared desire for further cooperation to advance the two nations' interests.

Meanwhile, the second evacuation plane from Sudan arrived in the UAE, carrying 136 Emirati citizens, diplomats, and nationals from nine different countries.

According to the Emirati News Agency (WAM), the second evacuation plane carried vulnerable groups of sick people, children, the elderly, and women.

The evacuation operation aligns with the UAE's commitment to humanitarian assistance and its efforts to promote international solidarity and cooperation.

According to WAM, the UAE will host the evacuees and provide them with all necessary support and assistance before transferring them to their home countries.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed the UAE's commitment to providing aid and assistance to countries in times of need, highlighting its work with its partners and the international community to serve the interests of the Sudanese people.

The first evacuation plane arrived Saturday in the UAE, carrying Emirati citizens and nationals of 16 countries.
