Paisley and District members of u3a enjoyed a ruby anniversary picnic to mark the 40 years of their world-wide learning organisation that is run by volunteers last week.
The milestone event took place on at Ferguslie Cricket Club where there were sandwiches and refreshments served in the summer weather.
Guests enjoyed some dancing and music as they ate as the Caledonian Fiddle Orchestra attended the picnic.
There was also a choice of Scottish reels and waltzes to go with the food.

Chair Kathy O’Donnell said: “It was a special occasion. It was a grand day out because it included a musical treat while we ate.
"Many of us relished the opportunity to meet up, to share, and have fun together. “
Paisley & District u3a is Scotland’s 50th self-help learning co-operative for people no longer in full time work. U3as, all run by local volunteers who share their learning, are part of a UK-wide and international educational movement.
Its motto is ‘Learn, laugh, live.’ Scotland has around 10,000 members in 51 u3as who have fun as they enjoy the social side of taking up new activities, and hobbies.
