The U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a cargo ship carrying fuel toward Cuba last month, the second such vessel stopped this year as the Trump administration seeks to restrict oil supplies reaching the Cuban government, the Miami Herald reports
A Coast Guard tactical team boarded the Comoro Islands-flagged Grace in early September as it sailed toward Cuba. The vessel was subsequently escorted to Progreso, Mexico, where Mexican Navy inspectors found large quantities of fuel stored in ballast tanks, which are normally filled with water to stabilize ships. Several containers were also believed to contain fuel.
