U.S. Citizen Injured In Hezbollah Missile Attack In Israel

Rockets are launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel, after a temporary truce expired between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, as seen from Israel's border with Gaza in southern Israel

An American civilian was wounded in Israel on Sunday as Hezbollah terrorists launched a missile attack against the Jewish state. The incident occurred near the northern Israeli community of Zar’it when two anti-tank guided missiles were fired from Lebanon towards an army post.

Alongside the 31-year-old American civilian, an Israel Defense Forces soldier and another civilian were also injured in the attack. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem confirmed that the injured American citizen is a private individual and not affiliated with the U.S. government.

The wounded U.S. citizen was reported to be in serious condition at Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, while the other injured individuals suffered minor injuries.

Hezbollah's missile attack is part of escalating tensions between the Iran-backed group and Israel. Prior to this incident, Hezbollah had launched over 200 rockets at Israeli military bases in retaliation for the killing of one of its senior commanders, Mohammad Naameh Nasser.

In response to the missile barrage, Israel conducted strikes on Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon. The situation further intensified when Hezbollah launched a drone attack in the Golan Heights, prompting Israel to retaliate with air and artillery strikes on Hezbollah military positions in Lebanon.

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem stated that it is gathering additional information on the incident but due to privacy concerns, no further details were provided at the time.
