Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua venue and date options confirmed with Principality Stadium, Old Trafford and Wembley all named

Tyson Fury revealed he has offered Anthony Joshua the pick of three dates and three iconic venues for their planned world heavyweight title showdown.

Champion Fury says the opening offer to Joshua is Manchester United's Old Trafford ground on Saturday November 12. Originally the Fury camp wanted to stage the fight on that date at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, but complications have arisen because Wayne Pivac's Wales meet Argentina in the autumn internationals that day.

The legendary Premier League ground is an alternative option, with Man Utd away to Fulham that day in the last fixture before the break for the World Cup.

The next date would be Saturday November 26 at Wembley Stadium, with the Principality again ruled out as Wales meet Australia in the final autumn match.

However, Fury disclosed the Principality Stadium on December 3 is a third option he has put forward to Joshua.

The home of Welsh rugby is available that day and Principality Stadium bosses, who have been locked in negotiations with Fury's camp, are keen to bring the blockbuster bout to Wales.

Joshua wants the fight to take place on December 17 in Cardiff, having only just come through a gruelling battle for another version of the title with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

The three dates Fury is offering are said to be his final offer to Joshua to meet before the end of the year and he has suggested the challenger gets 40 per cent of the purse.

"We had Manchester United football ground booked for November 12 but they're saying that's too short," Fury told talkSPORT. "Even better, we've got Wembley Stadium booked for November 26 and if he doesn't want that I even have December 3 in Cardiff, so take your pick.

"I really want this fight to happen because Usyk the middleweight doesn't want no smoke like I thought he didn't and now I'm going after AJ. I've already beaten Wilder and there's only one other person and that's AJ the bodybuilder.

"Why not give him 40 per cent, no excuses, let's get the fight made for the British public. the Battle of Britain, who's going to win it, me or him? He only had a sparring contest [against Usyk] didn't he? He's match fit, coming off a training camp. I've seen they're trying to wriggle a bit with the dates."

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn believes the fight can only take place in the UK in Cardiff at that time of year, because of the Principality Stadium's closed roof.

However, Wales have autumn matches on four successive Saturdays in November, ruling out the venue that month. It means December 3 is the first possible date, although Joshua wants it pushed back to eight days before Christmas in Cardiff.

Hearn said: "Interestingly they have the Millennium (sic) stadium held for December 17 and that's what we want."
