Tyson Fury tells Mike Tyson he would have "chinned" Anthony Joshua in his prime

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has told Mike Tyson he would have "chinned" both Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk in his prime.

Fury replied to comments made by ring legend Tyson after Usyk outpointed Joshua last September to win the Brit's heavyweight titles.

“After watching the Joshua vs Usyk fight, maybe they had a bad day that night," Tyson tweeted after their fight.

“From that performance do you really think they could have beat me in my prime?”

Four months after Tyson's original tweet, the conversation has resurfaced by Fury tweeting: "[Mike Tyson] you would of chinned the pair of p*****.

Tyson competed for 20 years as a professional and still holds the record for being the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

'Iron Mike' returned to the ring in 2020 for an exhibition bout with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr and was linked to fight again in February, but recently played down chances of another return.

Fury has brought Tyson's comments into light after talks of Joshua stepping aside from his rematch with Usyk to allow an undisputed clash with 'The Gypsy King'.

Usyk's promoter Alex Krassyuk admitted "not much" has changed since talks of the undisputed fight last year and the Ukrainian is still open to facing Fury.

Fury defended his WBC belt by rounding off a trilogy with Deontay Wilder last October and has been ordered to fight mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte next.

But Whyte and Joshua could both be paid several million to allow the undisputed fight between Fury and Usyk.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn admitted there has to be a plan for his fighter in addition to the step aside money.

"There are substantial amounts of money available and there are people who want to try and make this route happen," Hearn told Mirror Fighting.

"But it's not just about the money, it's about the plan - AJ doesn't want someone to come and give him money and saying 'right, see you later mate'.

"He wants to know what the actual plan is, and that's the same with Dillian Whyte, he's been waiting a long time and if he has to wait a couple of more months that's ok but how does it work?

"Right now, I still think the favourite is the two fights, but we'll see what happens.

"It's all very complicated, and that's why it's taking such a long time and sometimes it will go quiet and then resurface."
