Tyson Fury swaps world title glory for emptying bins as reality bites

It appears Tyson Fury has already come back down to earth following another defining night in his career at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

In what he's claiming to be his last ever boxing bout, 'The Gypsy King' delivered an imperious performance, retaining his WBC and The Ring Heavyweight titles with a brutal sixth round knockdown. Having controlled the opening stages, a right uppercut from Fury caught 'The Body Snatcher' flush and ended proceedings.

He celebrated in his now traditional manner, serenading the 94,000 crowd with his own version of Don McLean's classic American Pie. Having earlier entered the ring on a throne, Fury succeeded in his intentions to make his homecoming fight a memorable one.

The enjoyment clearly spilled over into Sunday morning, with wife Paris posting pictures on Instagram of the Fury camp enjoying a celebratory breakfast. Although is was champagne on the menu later in the day when the couple joined by friends at a venue in Essex.

There, Fury took the opportunity to video call Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn. It was unclear what the pair discussed, but footage of the pair smiling their way through the conversation suggested relations were friendly.

It seemed life was far more mundane for Fury come Monday morning though. He took to Instagram to share a video clip of trainer SugarHill Steward helping him to put the bins out outside his Morecambe home.

During the video, Fury is heard ordering "Just put it there Sugar." His guru responds by removing one package from the load and saying "this is how everything comes to be for the little stuff."

Whilst it was unclear what the American meant exactly, it was obvious that Fury and his team were already back in the mode of everyday life. The question now remains as to whether as the English fighter will ever be seen in the ring again.

Following his dramatic win over Whyte, he told BT Sport : "I promised my lovely wife Paris of 14 years that after the Wilder 3 fight, that would be it I meant it, we had a war, it was a great trilogy and I meant that.

"But I got offered to fight at Wembley at home and I believe I owed it to the fans, every person in the United Kingdom to come here and fight at Wembley. Now that it's all done, I think this is it, this might be the final curtain for the Gypsy King. What a way to go out, a big thank you to the United Kingdom!"

Just minutes later though, he contradicted this pledge by seemingly agreeing to face UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a crossover hybrid bout. 'The Predator' had entered the ring to help Fury celebrate before the pair appeared to shake hands on a deal.

Should he continue, a unification title bout with the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk v Anthony Joshua rematch surely awaits him. That bout is provisionally scheduled for July after Usyk was given special permission to leave his native Ukraine, having taken arms amid the Russian invasion.
