Tyson Fury has spoken to his legions of followers after he disappeared from social media earlier this month. The heavyweight champion took to his Instagram Stories on Monday to share a moving message ahead of the Queen's funeral.
The 34-year-old said he had "not been interested" in posting any other content on his platform following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Tyson last posted on September 8, the day the Queen's death was announced. "Thoughts & prayers with my Queen tonight," he typed alongside a picture of Her Majesty on the throne. May God be with you."
He then added: "RIP. may the lord god grant u a good bed in heaven." And on Friday, Tyson and his wife Paris headed to London and were seen paying their respects to the Queen following her death. The couple were snapped hand in hand. Paris looked glamourous in a pair of pink wide-legged trousers with a white shirt tucked in and matching heels while Tyson opted for a smart polo shirt and trousers.
Tyson held onto a beautiful white rose bouquet which was then laid outside the iconic London landmark, which Queen Elizabeth reportedly dubbed 'the office', alongside a heartfelt message which the boxer signed 'Gypsy King'. The card read: "To Our Queen, great may your bed be in Heaven. Love from Tyson and Paris xx Gypsy King x."
Speaking to his 5.7 million Instagram followers on Monday (September 19), Tyson explained how he had taken time away from social media for during the ten days of national mourning for Her Majesty the Queen, which came to an end on Sunday. He began his video by saying: "Hey guys, Queen's funeral today. I've been off social media for the past ten days, mourning in respect for our Queen who has died.
"Not posted nothing, not been interested in anything else to be fair." The boxing legend followed on by offering his condolences to the royal family as they lay their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to rest today. "I hope all the funeral goes well. Condolences to the full family and may she rest in heaven for eternity. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen."
David Beckham was among the mourners queuing to pay his respects to the Queen as she lie in state. His wait to file past the Queen's coffin began at 2am on Friday morning (September 16). He went early to try and avoid the crowds. However, he was spotted by fellow well-wishers, with pictures of him circulating on social media before he was interviewed by ITV.
David, 47 who is married to former Spice Girl Victoria, looked emotional as he made his way down the steps inside Westminster Hall. He appeared to wipe away a tear as he approached the side of the coffin before taking a moment to pause. He then bowed before moving on with the rest of the crowds who had also paid their final respects.
Over the weekend, Victoria hailed the late Queen Elizabeth II as 'the ultimate icon in every way' after spending the week 'reflecting' on her death. The former Spice Girl turned fashion designer, 48, praised the late monarch as the “ultimate icon in every way and the epitome of elegance” in a post to her 30 million followers on Instagram.
Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid also spent seven hours queuing with her mother, Sue, to share her final moments with the late monarch while This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield also cut sombre figures as they headed inside Westminster Hall.
